At Clonable, we believe in smart and cost-effective marketing solutions. As a partner of Hockeygear.eu, one of Europe's largest field hockey web stores, online marketing agency Wecommerce had been looking for ways to capture market share without the mega-budgets of our competitors in the field hockey industry since 2011. We needed to think strategically and apply smart tricks to buy in at a lower cost and make a profit.

Fikir
However, it soon became apparent that setting up, maintaining and hosting separate web shops for each new market was too expensive, especially for smaller markets such as Flanders. The costs quickly ran to ten thousand euros per year, which is a significant investment, especially in a time of low-margin price wars. In 2019, we worked with our talented part-time programmer Bas van den Boom to find a solution to this problem. We combined his programming knowledge with our expertise in online marketing, and thus the idea for Clonable was born.
Giriş
During a brainstorm in 2021, the idea arose to add translation capabilities to Clonable. Our customers had often asked if it was possible to translate the content of their web shops so they could increase their reach. This sounded too good to be true, but we added this feature in record time. The translation feature received a lot of attention and resulted in a remarkable growth of Clonable. At the Webwinkel Vakdagen in Utrecht we introduced Clonable with the translation function, and after two successful exhibition days we noticed a huge interest and demand from the public. Moreover, we developed a function that allowed us to prepare a demo site with translation for any website within 5 minutes.
