PSV has a large and diverse following, not only in the Netherlands, but also far beyond. Fans want to stay up to date with club news, match reports and exclusive interviews anytime, anywhere. But maintaining a multilingual website proved to be quite a challenge. News and updates were translated manually, which was time-consuming and sometimes caused international fans to receive information later than Dutch supporters.
The challenge
PSV wanted a website that performs as well internationally as it does in the Netherlands. Jörgen van der Meulen, responsible for the club's online strategy, explains:
Translating all content for our foreign fans was a time-consuming process. We had to wait for translations every time, which made international visitors feel like they were behind the times.

So PSV needed a solution that ensured that all content would be instantly available in multiple languages, without creating extra work for the team.
The solution
Clonable offered the ability to automatically convert the existing website to English and German versions. This meant that new articles, match reports and updates were automatically translated and immediately available.

Within a few days everything was set up correctly and we were able to go live. What's especially nice is that we can exclude certain soccer terms or sponsor names from translation, so everything stays correct.
